In 2001, our journey began with a question: how do we help our son—and others like him—feel truly seen? That question sparked something bigger than we ever imagined. Islands of Brilliance was born not just from a need, but from a community that believes in the power of creativity, connection, and compassion.
Now, more than a decade later, IOB has become a national model for what’s possible when neurodivergent individuals are celebrated for exactly who they are. As we face financial uncertainty, we invite you to reflect with us on how far we’ve come—and what we can build next, together.

It goes without saying, this has been a year like no other. As we head towards what will definitely be a unique holiday season, it seems clear we will need to shift expectations on our old traditions.
