Christina WickHeiser
Program Coordinator
Prior to joining Islands of Brilliance, Christina spent nearly two decades as a professional working in arts-based nonprofits in Washington, DC and then Milwaukee. Her most meaningful experiences were with institutions dedicated to arts-based education. This is where she discovered her passion for supporting and encouraging young people while they develop as both artists/designers and individuals. Most recently, Christina supported students at the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design as a Student Services team member.
Christina is excited to utilize all of the creative problem solving and resourcefulness she acquired in art school (Corcoran College of Art + Design) and working/volunteering with small nonprofits in her role as IOB’s Program Coordinator.
Outside of IOB, Christina is a practicing and exhibiting photo-based artist. She is passionate about helping people and animals. She has been involved with companion animal rescue and fostering for most of her adult life (and has 2 wonderful special needs senior pets to prove it). She’s also an advocate for mental health awareness and disability inclusion.
