What Is Brilliant Breakfast Club Online?

Brilliant Breakfast Club (BBC) Online is a friendly weekly Zoom meet-up where young adults gather to talk about interests, share ideas, play group games, and spend time with a community that understands and welcomes them.

Each week follows a familiar rhythm. Sometimes we have guided conversations led by IOB staff. Other weeks, the group takes the lead with table topics, would-you-rather questions, or interest-based chats. On the first Friday of every month, we play virtual games like Jeopardy, Pictionary, Kahoot, or custom trivia created just for the group.

BBC Online is a space where everyone is encouraged to express themselves in the ways that feel comfortable.

Students and mentors work together in an IOB Foundation workshop, collaborating on iPads and laptops in a colorful studio with artwork on the walls.

FAQs

Do I need to attend every week?

No. You can join whenever it fits your schedule.
What do I need for BBC Online?

A device with Zoom and a stable internet connection.
What if I am shy or nervous?

You can keep your camera off, type in the chat, or participate at your own pace.
Are the same people there every week?

Yes. Most participants return weekly, which helps build familiarity and community. (Many of our online BBC participants also attend the in-person session on the 2nd Friday of the month… so that tends to be a quieter day online.)
Do I have to join in the games?

No. Participation is always optional.
Is financial aid available?

Islands of Brilliance is an approved vendor for IRIS in Wisconsin. If you do not qualify for Medicaid funding, there are occasionally limited scholarships available through our Brilliant Fund. Contact us to discuss.
