MILWAUKEE – Midwinter 2018 Saturday Design Workshops @ Islands of Brilliance
Feb 17 – Mar 17 all-day

 

Ages: 9-18+

Saturdays:
February 18, 25, March 3, 10, 17
Morning: 10:30am – 11:45am
Afternoon: 1:00pm – 2:15pm

What is the age range?
Our core design workshops are recommended for students ages 9 – 18+. Due to increased demand, space has been expanded to accommodate 10 students per workshop.

What is the cost?
Cost of the workshop is $325. Waiver and CCOP authorization is available in all surrounding counties – check with your case manager for formal approval of funding.

Our students are expected to:

  1. Be able to sit and attend to a task for a minimum of 15 minutes, and then return to work after a short break.
  2. Be able to follow verbal directions with minimal visual support. (In our workshops, students work side by side with a professional from the creative field. Special Education supervision is provided as support.)
  3. Be comfortable using a mouse (including clicking, dragging, etc.).
  4. Be able to access information—such as finding images for his/her project—using a browser window.
  5. Be respectful of the learning environment—including fellow students and volunteers. All of our students work at a pace that is appropriate for them.

MILWAUKEE: Autism, Art, & Design (Third Ward Gallery Night) @ Islands of Brilliance
Apr 20 @ 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm

 

As part of National Autism Awareness Month, Islands of Brilliance will be highlighting the work of our talented students during the second annual “Autism, Art, and Design” exhibit as part of Gallery Night on Friday, April 20th. The exhibit will feature multi-disciplinary work created during Islands of Brilliance art, design, and technology workshops over the previous 12 months.
